When Red Ingle recorded his outrageous hillbilly parody of Temptation in March 1947, no one at Capitol Records imagined that it would become the summer's sleeper hit. Featuring a twangy Jo Stafford as 'Cinderella G. Stump', Tim-Tayshun became an immediate favorite among America's disc jockeys. It was smart, funny and great music, too. Listeners responsed so quickly that Capitol Records couldn't press enough copies to meet public demand. No one was more surprised than Ingle. After twenty years as a featured sideman with Jean Goldkette, Ted Weems and Spike Jones, Ingle was now in demand as a headliner on his own. More record successes followed, including the international hit Cigareetes, Whuskey And Wild, Wild Women and the surreal Nature Boy spoof Serutan Yob.

After a half-century, Ingle's records remain fresh and funny, with terrific backing from Noel Boggs, Herman the Hermit, Les Paul, the Armstrong Twins, Speedy West and Jimmy Bryant and City Slickers alumni Country Washburne, Chick Dougherty, Red Roundtree, Candy Hall, Herm Crone and Frank Leithner.

This 28-track CD collects all of Ingle's original Capitol releases plus one track only available in Australia and six previously unissued songs. It includes a biographical essay, a complete discography and many rare photos.

Who was Bud Isaacs, and why should you care? Steel guitar players need no introduction to him because he brought the pedal steel guitar to country music when he played on Webb Pierce's Slowly.
